Gilbert Molina was born in East Los Angeles, CA but currently resides in NYC. Gilbert hold a Bachelors of Arts degree in Theatre with a focus on Asian Performance from the University of Hawaii, Manoa and a Masters in Fine Arts in Acting from the California Institute of the Arts (CalArts), where he received the Cheech Marin Endowment Scholarship.

Along with contemporary acting training, Gilbert has studied with master teachers in Chinese Jingju (aka Beijing opera), Indonesian Randai, and Japanese Kabuki and Kyogen. 

Gilbert has performed on stages and galleries around the world including American Samoa for the Festival of Pacific Arts, in China at the Jiangsu Province Jingju Academy, and in Peru with Grupo Yuyachkani. 

Gilbert recently performed in Calderon's Two Dreams at La MaMa ETC and can currently be seen in the NYC Indie One Minute Play Festival.
